The simple fix is to use classic version of Gmail. Go to gmail.com and look at the bottom right corner you should see a quick pop up message to access Gmail Classic version or try this link https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/h/ This is for desktop version of Gmail where you access your gmail via browser like chrome or internet explorer.
